Travel back in time with this incredible day trip to Ventanillas de Otuzco, a pre-Inca cemetery, and discover traditional customs of a Peruvian farm with this excursion.

Ventanillas of Otuzco Day Trip

We'll pick you up at your hotel in Cajamarca at 3:30 pm for the excursion. The trip begins with a drive to the village of Otuzco, crossing the suspension bridge over the Chonta River. Located only 4 miles (7 kilometres) from the village, we will visit the Ventanillas de Otuzco, a necropolis with over 300 tombs carved into volcanic rock.

This cemetery belongs to the Caxamarca culture, which predated the Incas. During the trip, you’ll observe the window-shaped niches that characterize the complex and learn about the mysteries they conceal.

Next, we will stop at the Hacienda Tres Molinos, a traditional farm producing dairy products, including cheese and butter, and the sweet blancmange, a typical South American item. The farm features an outdoor hydrangea garden showcasing various flowers and fruits.

After the tour, you will have free time to taste local delicacies and enjoy a horseback ride around the hacienda. The tour concludes with a return to your hotel, scheduled for around 7 pm.
