Ventanillas of Otuzco Day Trip
We'll pick you up at your hotel in Cajamarca at 3:30 pm for this excursion. The trip starts with a drive to the village of Otuzco, crossing the suspension bridge over the Chonta River. We will visit the Ventanillas de Otuzco, a necropolis with over 300 tombs carved in volcanic rock, located approximately 4 miles (7 kilometers) from the village.
This cemetery is part of the Caxamarca culture that existed before the Incas. During the visit, participants will observe the window-shaped niches and learn about the site's historical significance.
The next destination is Hacienda Tres Molinos, a traditional farm producing dairy products such as cheese and butter, as well as the sweet blancmange. Guests can explore the outdoor hydrangea garden, showcasing various flowers and fruits.
After the tour, participants will have free time to sample local delicacies or take a horseback ride around the hacienda. The tour concludes with a return to the hotel at around 7 pm.
