Ventanillas of Otuzco Day Trip

Pickup at your hotel in Cajamarca will be at 3:30 pm. The excursion begins with a drive to the village of Otuzco, crossing the suspension bridge over the Chonta River. The Ventanillas de Otuzco, located just 4 miles (7 kilometers) away, features over 300 tombs carved into volcanic rock.

This ancient cemetery is significant to the Caxamarca culture which predated the Incas and was incorporated into the Inca Empire until the arrival of the Spanish. During the visit, observe the window-shaped niches that characterize the site and learn about their historical significance.

The next stop will be at Hacienda Tres Molinos, a traditional farm known for dairy products including cheese, butter, and sweet blancmange. Visitors can also explore the hydrangea garden, displaying a variety of flowers and fruits.

Afterwards, enjoy free time to sample local delicacies and participate in a horseback ride around the hacienda. The tour concludes with a return to your hotel, expected at around 7 am.
