We'll pick you up from your hotel in Calama to start our private tour into the Chacabuco ghost town.

Before reaching Chacabuco, we'll stop in Pique Chela, a spa built in the Atacama Desert for local families around the end of the 19th century, formerly considered Bolivian territory.

At about noon, we'll arrive at thePampa Union town, founded in 1911 as a settlement dedicated to salt mining, which developed around a sanatorium for sick workers.

Our route continues to the ghost town of Chacabuco, where we'll walk through the empty streets and discuss its history as a salt and saltpeter mining town. The Chacabuco Saltpeter Office was one of the largest in the area.

Once home to up to 5,000 inhabitants, the town featured a theater, hotel, school, market, and facilities for activities like football.

After exploring the Chacabuco ghost town, we will return you to your hotel in Calama, concluding the tour after approximately 8 hours.
