Ollagüe + Alto del Loa Salt Flats Private Tour

The tour begins with a pickup from your hotel in Calama, followed by a 190-kilometer (118-mile) drive showcasing the San Pedro, San Pablo, and Ollagüe volcanoes. Upon reaching the Ascotán salt flat, observe the large gypsum and halite formations, along with lagoons that form during the rainy season.
A short distance away, separated by the Ollagüe and Aucanquincha volcanoes, is the Carcote Salt Flat, which has small lakes, including the notable Laguna Verde.
At around 2:30 PM, visit the former Buenaventura sugar refinery, which contributed to the local economy due to its proximity to the salt flats.
Before returning to Calama, enjoy lunch at local restaurants in Ollagüe, a rural village founded in 1979 and situated at 3,660 meters (12,007 feet) above sea level.
