Ollagüe + Alto del Loa Salt Flats Private Tour

After pickup from your hotel in Calama, we will begin our tour through Ollagüe and the Alto del Loa Salt Flats.

The tour starts with a 190-kilometer (118-mile) drive featuring views of the San Pedro, San Pablo, and Ollagüe volcanoes. Upon reaching the Ascotán salt flat, we will observe gypsum and halite formations and lagoons fed by salt flats during the rainy season. Additional curiosities will be shared during this visit.

Next, we will arrive at the Carcote Salt Flat, located near small lakes, including Laguna Verde.

At approximately 2:30 pm, we will stop at the former sugar refinery of Buenaventura, significant for the local economy due to the salt flats' location.

Before returning to Calama, we will stop in Ollagüe for lunch at local restaurants. This rural village, established in 1979 at 3,660 meters (12,007 feet) above sea level, is notable in the Antofagasta region.

We will conclude the tour with a return to your hotel, arriving approximately 10 to 11 hours after pickup.
