Embark on a private day trip to Chiu Chiu and the Poruña Volcano, unveiling the charm of a quaint village in Alto del Loa and the breathtaking landscapes of the Andes Mountains.

Tour Highlights

At 8:30 am, our team will pick you up from your hotel in Calama. The first stop is the Conchi Viaduct, also known as the Loa River Viaduct, significant as an initial route for the railroad from Antofagasta to Bolivia.

Continuing, we reach the vicinity of Poruña Volcano, where a 3-kilometer (1.8-mile) hike awaits you through the area known for having the smallest crater in the world. Enjoy views of the Andes Mountains.

As we traverse the Lasana Valley, nestled in the canyon of the Loa River, you'll see remnants of early human settlements dedicated to agriculture and livestock.

By 1:30 pm, we arrive in San Francisco de Chiu Chiu, allowing you one hour for lunch on your own. Afterward, we will explore the historic streets of the town, formerly Atacama Chica, and its significant monuments, including the oldest church in Chile, the San Francisco Church.

At 3 pm, our return journey to Calama begins, concluding with your drop-off at your hotel seven hours later.
