At 8:30 am, our team will pick you up from your hotel in Calama, marking the beginning of this journey to Chiu Chiu and the Poruña Volcano. Our first stop is the Conchi Viaduct, known historically as a route for the railroad from Antofagasta to Bolivia.
Continuing, we reach the vicinity of Poruña Volcano, where a 3-kilometer (1.8-mile) hike awaits through the world's record-holder for the smallest crater. Enjoy the views of the Andes Mountains.
In the Lasana Valley, within the canyon of the Loa River, we will encounter remnants of early agricultural and livestock settlements.
By 1:30 pm, we will arrive at San Francisco de Chiu Chiu, providing an hour of free time for lunch. Afterward, we will explore the historic streets and significant monuments, including the San Francisco Church, the oldest church in Chile.
