If you're in Calama, don't miss this trip to the Puente del Diablo (Devil's Bridge), Chiu Chiu and Ayquina. Discover Alto del Loa's biggest tourist attractions!

Description

We'll collect you from your hotel in Calama at the scheduled time to begin this tour around Alto del Loa. Ready to enter the Atacama desert?

Once on board our 4x4, we'll travel towards Santa Margarita, located 21 kilometres (13.04 miles) southeast of Calama, where you will see marble quarries and the Loa River, the longest river in Chile.

Next, we will stop at Ayquina, a town approximately 3000 metres (9842.51 ft.) above sea level, to learn about the Likanatay aboriginal community and their traditions and celebrations, including the Virgin of Guadalupe.

At 1:30 pm, we will arrive at Puente del Diablo, a notable rock fissure linking the Andes to the desert. The following destination is the Inka Coya Lagoon, associated with a legend of a princess and Inca Atahualpa Yupanqui.

At 3 pm, we will reach San Francisco de Chiu Chiu, where you will have an hour of free time to eat. This location is an oasis in the Antofagasta region and part of the Way of the Incas. Notably, the church here is the oldest in Chile.

We will conclude our tour of Calama after 10 hours together.
