Let yourself be enchanted by the fluttering shapes and colors of Colombia's most exotic butterflies. On this day trip, you'll visit the Andoke Butterfly Reserve and the Cristo Rey statue, an iconic symbol of Cali.
Day Trip Details
At the designated time, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Cali and head to the heart of the Cauca Valley, one of the best places for Colombian flora and fauna. Upon arrival, we'll visit the Andoke butterfly reserve, which is home to over 15 native species of butterfly.
During our tour of the Andoke butterfly reserve, you'll learn about the different characteristics of each species and the important role butterflies play in this ecosystem. As you stroll along the reserve's paths and trails, you'll also see birds of the Cauca Valley, dragonflies, and plants necessary for the butterflies' survival.
The butterfly reserve also houses a peculiar map of Colombia showing its geographical regions, rivers, cities, and the flora and fauna of each region.
Afterward, we'll return to the minibus and head for Cerro Los Cristales, where the guardian of Cali awaits: the Cristo Rey (Christ the King). This statue towers 85 ft high (25 m) and weighs 2204 lbs (464 tonnes).
Once you've taken some photos, we'll return to your hotel in Cali after 4 hours.
