Day Trip Details
We'll meet at the designated time at the Hotel Intercontinental, where we'll set off south, leaving the city behind. During the journey, we'll stop at a traditional bakery for a light breakfast, fueling up for the hike ahead.
Our journey will take us to the Puente de Amarillo de La Vorágine, where we’ll provide a kit with fruit, snacks, and a hydrating drink, perfect for the hiking route. We’ll begin walking toward El Topacio Environmental Center, crossing the Farallones de Cali National Nature Park. Are you ready for a 5.59 mi (9 km) hiking route? Let's go!
As we advance, you'll notice the rock formations, tropical forests, and moors. We'll make several stops to take pictures, observe fauna, and explore the region's flora. You’ll be able to see and hear the canals of the Pance and Anchicayá rivers and the roar of the Farallones waterfalls.
Upon reaching El Topacio, we’ll take a break and receive an educational lecture. This session will cover the park's history, along with protection and conservation efforts for this unique ecosystem in southern Cali. You’ll learn about how the Farallones were once considered sacred by the ancestral Indigenous villages.
After this visit, we’ll start our journey back, and if the weather permits, we’ll take a swim in the Quebrada La Nevera. The water stays cool, but that won’t deter us from enjoying a refreshing dip after the hike!
Finally, we’ll begin our journey back to Cali, where we’ll say our goodbyes at the meeting point, after a duration of 4 to 6 hours.
