On this day trip to the Farallones de Cali National Nature Park, you'll discover the landscapes of the Valle del Cauca and learn about El Topacio's ecosystem.
Day Trip Details
We'll meet at the specified time at the Hotel Intercontinental and depart south, leaving the city behind. A stop will be made at a traditional bakery for a light breakfast.
Our journey will take us to the Puente de Amarillo de La Vorágine, where a kit with fruit, snacks, and a hydrating drink will be provided for the hiking route. We'll start walking towards El Topacio Environmental Center, traversing the Farallones de Cali National Nature Park on a 5.59 mi (9 km) hiking route.
As we advance, you'll see rock formations, tropical forests, and moors. We will stop to take pictures, observe fauna, and learn about the region's flora, as well as listen to the Pance and Anchicayá rivers and the Farallones waterfalls.
Upon reaching El Topacio, we will rest and provide an educational lecture on the park's history and conservation efforts for this ecosystem. The Farallones were considered sacred by ancestral Indigenous villages.
After this visit, we will head back, and if weather permits, enjoy a swim in the Quebrada La Nevera. The cool waters will offer a refreshing dip after the hike.
Finally, we'll return to Cali, concluding our trip at the meeting point after 4 to 6 hours.
