Sail the waters of the South Pacific on this speedboat trip to discover the Palomino Islands and swim with a colony of sea lions!
Palomino Islands Speedboat Trip & Swimming with Sea Lions
We'll meet at Calle del Mar at 10 am to board the speedboat for our cruise around the islands of Callao.
The boat will sail across the South Pacific, allowing us to admire rock formations and observe fishing activities. We'll pass El Camotal, which can only be seen during low tide due to its submersion after an earthquake.
Next, we will visit San Lorenzo, known as a "mystery island", hosting a navy base and cemeteries of Chilean soldiers along with over 20 pre-Incan archaeological sites.
We will then head to the island of El Frontón, notable for the ruins of a prison that held members of the Shining Path communist party in the 1980s. The Cavinzas islands, featuring natural caves and a colony of Humboldt penguins, will also be viewed.
Finally, we'll skirt the Palomino Islands to observe the ecosystem of guano birds and the sea lion colony, with the opportunity to swim with these animals. We will return to the meeting point in Callao at 1 pm.
