Hiking Malacara Canyon

On this hiking route through the Malacara Canyon from Cambará do Sul, we'll explore one of the prominent canyons in southern Brazil.

Hiking route highlights

We'll pick you up from your hotel in Cambará do Sul and travel south in a 4x4.

After a 40-minute ride, we'll arrive at Serra Geral National Park, where we'll begin our 6 kilometers (3.7 miles) hiking route along the Malacara Canyon. This route features a medium level of difficulty and showcases various local plant species such as bromeliads, fig trees, and cinnamon trees. We will also observe local fauna including toucans and thrushes, all while enjoying a slow pace to appreciate the surroundings.

At the end of the hike, we'll reach the natural pools within Malacara Canyon, where you'll have an hour of free time to bathe in the crystal-clear waters.

After this, we will retrace our hiking route back to the national park entrance. Our vehicle will then transport you back to Cambará do Sul, concluding the adventure which lasts 4 to 5 hours.
