São José dos Ausentes Day Trip

On this day trip to São José dos Ausentes, we'll visit the tallest point in Rio Grande do Sul and admire its landscapes.

Description

We will pick you up from your hotel in Cambará do Sul at the specified time and travel in a 4x4 vehicle to São José dos Ausentes. During the journey, we will discuss the history of the town, which was once the largest ranch in the region, covering over 1000 square kilometers but is now abandoned.

Upon arrival in São José dos Ausentes, we will head to Pico do Monte Negro to begin a 4-kilometer (2.5 miles) hiking route to the highest point in the state, at 1043 meters (3421 feet) above sea level, offering views of the Monte Negro Canyon and, on clear days, the Rio Grande do Sul and Santa Catarina coast.

After the hike, we will return by 4x4 to the farm for a buffet-style lunch. Following lunch, we will visit the Rodrigues waterfall and explore the area, including Cerro Maracujá and the fields of Cima da Serra.

Finally, we will return to Cambará do Sul, concluding the day trip to São José dos Ausentes at your hotel after 10 hours of activity.
