Parc Samà Overview

Constructed towards the close of the 19th century, Parc Samà was commissioned by Salvador Samà i Torrents, the Marquis of Mariano, as a retreat for relaxation. The essence of romanticism is beautifully encapsulated within the park’s design.

This treasured historical garden, recognized as Bien de Interés Cultural ("Cultural Heritage"), boasts a variety of features, including a quaint palace, a picturesque lake with suspension bridges, and gardens that showcase natural beauty. The romantic gardens exhibit a wildly natural aesthetic, illustrated by the presence of various animals, such as deer and peacocks, reminiscent of the era they represent. Designed by Josep Fontserè, who collaborated with Antoni Gaudí on renowned works like the Ciutadella Park in Barcelona, Parc Samà will celebrate the Year of Gaudí 2026 through its special initiative, “Troba Gaudí,” which features a range of engaging events:
