Calakmul + Balamkú Tour

On this excursion from Campeche, we will explore the Mayan culture by visiting Calakmul and Balamkú, two significant archaeological sites on the Yucatán Peninsula.

Calakmul + Balamkú Tour

Pick-up will be at 5 am from your hotel in San Francisco de Campeche. We will travel to visit two archaeological sites from the Mayan period. The first destination is Calakmul, located four and a half hours away.

We will stop for a breakfast consisting of two sandwiches, juice, yogurt, and fruit before reaching our first site. At Calakmul, a World Heritage Site, we will take a guided tour of the ruins to see tiered temples known as Structure I and II and the remains of a ball game court.

Next, we will proceed to the Mayan site of Balamkú, notable for its decorated temples featuring stucco friezes with impressive engravings.

After the site visit, lunch will be served at the Puerta Calakmul restaurant, offering a traditional Mexican dish with a choice of chicken or fajitas.

Following lunch, we will return to your hotel in Campeche by 8 pm.
