On this excursion from Campeche, we will explore the Mayan culture by visiting Calakmul and Balamkú, key archaeological sites on the Yucatán Peninsula.

Calakmul + Balamkú Tour

We will pick you up at 5 am from your hotel in San Francisco de Campeche and head to the Yucatan Peninsula to visit two significant archaeological sites. Our first stop will be Calakmul, located four and a half hours away.

En route, we will take a break for a hearty breakfast consisting of two sandwiches, juice, yoghurt, and fruit. After breakfast, we will continue to Calakmul, an important Mayan political center.

Upon arrival at this World Heritage Site, we will take a guided tour of the ruins, including tiered temples known as Structures I and II and an ancient ball game court.

Next, we will travel to the Mayan site of Balamkú, known for its striking decorations, including stucco friezes with exquisite lithographic engravings.

After the site visit, we will have lunch at the Puerta Calakmul restaurant, with a choice of a traditional Mexican dish: chicken or fajitas.

Following lunch, we will return to your hotel in Campeche, arriving by 8 pm.
