On this excursion to Champotón, you'll discover its monuments and beaches and learn why this city is the gastronomic capital of Campeche.
Description
After pickup at 8 am at the Ocean View Hotel in Campeche, we will head south to Champoton, located on the western coast of the Yucatan Peninsula.
Our first stop will be at the San José Carpizo hacienda, a former cattle and henequen hacienda showcasing 19th-century architecture.
Next, we'll visit downtown Champotón for a guided tour, where we'll explore the main square and view the colonial-style façade of the church of Nuestra Señora de las Mercedes.
Champoton is known as the gastronomic capital of Campeche. After the city tour, you will have one hour for lunch to try traditional dishes featuring fish and seafood, along with bean and meat specialties.
After lunch, we will visit the Costa del Sol beach club, providing one hour for you to relax and sunbathe in loungers and hammocks.
We will return to the meeting point by 3 pm.
