On this excursion to Champotón, you'll discover its monuments and beaches and find out why this city is the gastronomic capital of the state of Campeche!

Description

After picking you up at 8 am at the Ocean View Hotel in Campeche, we'll head south to Champotón, one of the most beautiful cities on the western coast of the Yucatan Peninsula!

Our first stop will be at the San José Carpizo hacienda, located in the northwest of Champotón. The remains of this former cattle and henequen hacienda are a great example of the architecture that developed in the region throughout the 19th century.

Next, we'll head to downtown Champotón for a guided tour. In its old town, we'll visit its main square and admire the façade of the colonial-style church of Nuestra Señora de las Mercedes.

Champotón is considered the gastronomic capital of the state of Campeche. After the city tour, you'll have an hour at leisure to have lunch and discover its traditional dishes, featuring fish and seafood, as well as other specialties made with beans and meat.

After lunch, we'll go to the Costa del Sol beach club, where you'll have an hour to relax and sunbathe in the sun loungers and hammocks.

Finally, we'll return to the meeting point, arriving at 3 pm.
