Day Trip Details

At the scheduled time, we will pick you up from your hotel in San Francisco de Campeche and travel to Edzná, an important Mayan site on the Yucatán peninsula. This ancient city thrived due to its advanced hydraulic system.

After almost an hour's drive, we will begin our 2-hour guided tour of the archaeological site, focusing on the Great Acropolis and the renowned Five Storey Building, which functioned as a palace and astronomical observatory. We will explore how the ancient Maya aligned their constructions with celestial bodies.

Next, we will visit the historic Ex Hacienda San Luis Carpizo, a remnant of the henequen industry, established in the 19th century. The estate now houses facilities of the Ministry of the Navy, blending modernity with its historical background. We will spend an hour touring its gardens and workshops.

Finally, we will travel to Champotón, known for its culinary offerings. We will enjoy a lunch featuring fresh seafood and traditional dishes. Post-lunch, you will have free time to explore the boardwalk or relax by the sea.

After 2.5 hours in Champotón, we will return to Campeche and conclude the 9-hour day trip at your hotel.
