Explore the remarkable Maya heritage of Chichén Itzá on this journey departing from Cancún. During the expedition, you will also experience the breathtaking Chichikan cenote and tour the picturesque town of Valladolid.

Trip Overview

At the scheduled time, you will be collected from your selected meeting point or hotel within Cancún.

Your adventure begins at Chichén Itzá, the holiest of the Maya sites in Yucatán. Upon arrival, you will start to unravel the mysteries surrounding the pyramid of Kukulkán. This monumental structure reveals its grandeur particularly during the solstice, when alternating light and shadow highlight its intricate design, reflecting the advanced astronomical insights held by the ancient civilization. You will marvel at the steep steps of the pyramid up close, adding to its unique allure. Interesting fact: it was recognized as one of the New Seven Wonders of the World in 2007.

Continuing our journey, you will explore the Chichén Itzá temples. One of the highlights is the impressive Temple of the Warriors, adorned with warrior imagery and protected by a striking array of columns, home to the figure of Chac Mool, the rain deity.

Following the archaeological exploration, a refreshing stop at the Chichikan cenote awaits for a refreshing swim. A delightful buffet lunch (included with hotel pickup) will also be provided, paired with an enjoyable tequila tasting.

To conclude the day, you will embark on a scenic tour of Valladolid, a charming town in Yucatán, where the stories of Iglesia de San Servacio, the Palacio Municipal, and the Mercado Municipal will be unveiled.

Finally, the return to Cancún will begin, arriving at your meeting point approximately 12 to 13 hours following the initial pickup.

Essential Information

Please be aware that, due to current circumstances, time in Valladolid is limited to 25 minutes, during which you will visit San Servacio Church, the Municipal Palace, and the Municipal Market while traveling by bus. Time spent at the cenote will be increased accordingly.

A guide must accompany you throughout your visit to Chichén Itzá, as self-guided exploration is not allowed.

Access to Valladolid could be restricted due to specific events. If this occurs, additional time will be allocated to other activities.
