Chichén Itzá & Ek Balam Day Trip
After picking you up from your hotel at the designated time, we will head to the inland part of the Yucatán Peninsula to visit Chichén Itzá. Upon arrival, we will see the Temple of Kukulcán, one of the New Seven Wonders of the World, featuring colossal staircases that conceal centuries of history.
We will also visit the Great Ball Court, Venus Temple, and Temple of the Warriors, and learn about how the Itzaes used equinoxes, sunsets, solstices, and stars for decision-making at the observatory.
Next, we will travel to the Hubiku Cenote, a 200-foot (60-meter) deep well of crystal clear water where we can swim. A Yucatecan lunch will be provided, and you can visit the tequila museum located nearby.
Our final stop will be the Mayan city of Ek Balam, dating back to 300 BC. Here we will explore the Entrance Arch, ceremonial centre, Oval Palace, and Ballcourt, which are all well-preserved.
We will admire the tomb of Ukit Kan Le'k Tok' and learn about its pyramids. After 12 hours of culture and history, we will return to the starting point to conclude our day.
