Explore the Lakes of Covadonga
Gather at the parking lot of Llerado Street in Cangas de Onís and board our small-group vehicle to explore the Picos de Europa National Park. Over 3.5 hours, we will visit the Covadonga, Enol, and Ercina lakes at an altitude of 1100 meters. The tour will include insights into the landscape formation, opportunities to photograph the surroundings, and emphasize enjoying nature and landscapes.
We will visit Vega de Enol, known for the renowned Gamoneu cheese, and discuss the connection between extensive livestock farming and mountain ecosystems where this cheese is made.
Next, we'll stop at the Mirador de la Reina for stunning views, equipped with binoculars and telescopes to observe birds of prey, including vultures and golden eagles. We will also discuss the reintroduction project for bearded vultures and other wildlife in the park, including bears, wolves, and chamois.
