During this visit to a cheese factory in Paestum, we'll discover the secrets of the dairy products of Campania: mozzarella and ricotta. We will also taste these delicacies with other local products.

Tour Details

At the indicated time, we'll meet at the Paestum Train Station, from where we'll hop on a minibus to the cheese factory. This tour lasts approximately 3.5 hours.

After around a 25-minute journey, we will arrive and start our visit to the factory's facilities. First, we will observe the preparation of buffalo mozzarella, learning about the process of making this product.

Next, we will visit the buffalo farm to understand how the animals are cared for; you can even pet them. The cheese factory also features a museum with over a thousand exhibits displaying the agricultural history of the region.

We will then proceed to a leather workshop, where buffalo hides are transformed into handicraft products. After the tour, a tasting session will allow us to try different mozzarella and ricotta-based dishes, such as crepes and salad.

Additionally, we'll sample homemade yogurt and other dairy products like ice cream or cappuccino, with local wine, rustic bread, and water served alongside. Finally, we will return to the starting point in Paestum and conclude the experience.
