Paestum Cheese Factory Visit

During this visit to a cheese factory in Paestum, we'll discover the secrets of the most famous dairy products of Campania: mozzarella and ricotta. We will also taste these delicacies with local products.

Tour Details

At the indicated time, we'll meet at the Paestum Train Station and board a minibus to a cheese factory. The journey will take about 25 minutes, after which we'll begin our visit to the factory.

We'll observe the preparation of buffalo mozzarella and learn about the production process. Following this, we'll visit the buffalo farm to see how the animals are cared for and have the opportunity to interact with them. The cheese factory also has a museum showcasing over a thousand exhibits on the agricultural history of the region.

Next, we'll explore a leather workshop where buffalo hides are turned into handicraft products. The visit concludes with a tasting featuring different mozzarella and ricotta-based dishes, including crepes and salad.

We will also enjoy homemade yoghurt and other dairy products like ice cream or a cappuccino, accompanied by local wine, rustic bread, and water.

After a 3.5-hour experience, we'll return to Paestum to conclude our tour.
