Paestum Cheese Factory Visit

During this visit to a cheese factory in Paestum, we'll discover the secrets of the renowned dairy products of Campania: mozzarella and ricotta. Tasting these delicacies alongside other local products is included.

Tour Details

At the scheduled time, we will meet at the Paestum Train Station and take a minibus to a cheese factory. The journey will take about 25 minutes.

Upon arrival, we will begin the visit to the factory, starting with a demonstration of buffalo mozzarella preparation, where we will learn about the steps involved in making this product.

Next, we will visit a buffalo farm to observe the care provided to these animals, with opportunities for close interaction. The cheese factory also includes a museum featuring over a thousand exhibits related to the agricultural history of the region.

Additionally, we will tour a leather workshop, showcasing the processing of buffalo hides into handicraft items. The visit concludes with a tasting of various mozzarella and ricotta-based dishes, including crepes and salad.

Participants will also sample homemade yoghurt, ice cream, or a cappuccino, along with local wine, rustic bread, and water. After a 3.5-hour experience, we will return to the starting point in Paestum to conclude the tour.
