The fortress of Carcassonne was the scene of confrontations between the French and Aragonese during the Middle Ages. Your ticket allows you to visit the Romanesque Chapel of the Bastion, the Machicolations, and the Barbican. The opening times of Carcassonne Castle are as follows:

Final admission is 45 minutes before closing time. On December 24 and 31, the castle will close at 4 pm. These times are flexible and subject to change.
