Day Trip Details
On this day trip to Carbonera, Matanzas, Boca de Camarioca, and Santa Marta, we will travel through villages, mangroves, and cenotes, and sample Cuban rums.
You will be picked up at your hotel in Varadero and travel in a classic car to Coral Beach, where you can hire snorkelling equipment to enjoy the waters and fish.
Next, we head to Matanzas, where you will explore the historic centre, including colonial houses, the Cathedral of San Carlos Borromeo, the Sauto Theatre, and various museums.
Afterward, we will visit the cenote of Saturn Cave, which features crystalline waters for swimming and relaxing for an hour. Our next destination is Boca de Camarioca, known for its beaches, and you will learn how to make a Cuban mojito.
We will pass La Conchita beach and the artificial beach of Plaza Oasis before arriving in Santa Marta. At the Agricultural Market, we will take a bike taxi to a local restaurant for a traditional lunch, accompanied by a Cuban cocktail.
After lunch, we will tour Santa Marta, walking through the historic centre and visiting the lively village market to experience rural Cuban life.
Next, we will visit Casa Naranja, a short distance from Santa Marta, for a tasting of four Cuban rums, coffee, chocolate, and tobacco. We will also visit El Resplandor, an agroecological farm, to enjoy seasonal fruit tastings.
Finally, we will stop at Playa Las Américas, one of the best beaches in Varadero, before returning to your hotel in a classic car after 9 hours.
