On this guided tour of the Cabo de Palos Lighthouse, we'll enjoy views from this famous monument and learn about its history while climbing to the top, nearly 80 metres (260 feet) above sea level.

Description

At the specified time, we'll meet at the entrance to the Cabo de Palos Lighthouse. Are you prepared to climb to the highest point and observe the Murcian coast from the top?

Constructed in the mid-19th century, the Cabo de Palos Lighthouse succeeded the old watch tower for the Murcian city, illuminating the Costa Calida daily to guide boats away from rocks.

It is among the tallest lighthouses in Spain. The tour will cover its history, the projects that enabled its construction, and the significance of the Cabo de Palos Marine Reserve.

After an introduction about the lighthouse esplanade, we'll climb over 300 stairs to reach its balcony, located around 80 metres (260 feet) above sea level, offering views of the Mediterranean, Cabo de Palos, and La Manga del Mar Menor. Time for photos!

We will also learn how the lighthouse operates and discuss some of the shipwrecks in the vicinity. After 45 minutes, we will conclude our guided tour at the original meeting point.
