Delve into Carthago Nova's Roman past by reserving this ticket to the Roman Theatre Museum, through which you'll discover the history of this important monument.

Cartagena Roman Theatre Museum Ticket

This ticket allows you to explore Carthago Nova's Roman past while observing archaeological pieces from the Roman Theatre of Cartagena. The museum includes various ancient buildings such as the Riquelme Palace and the church of Santa Maria. The visit commences in the old Pascual Riquelme Palace, where you'll learn about the discovery and excavation of the theater via an underground corridor. From here, access a room displaying significant objects, including jewellery, statues, and vessels, as well as artistic pieces like three aras dedicated to the Capitoline Triad.

Your tour continues through a tunnel under the medieval church to the Roman Theatre of Cartagena, one of Spain's largest theatres, with a capacity for 7000 people. It served Carthago Nova's citizens until the 2nd century. Thanks to archaeological excavations from the 90s and the design by architect Rafael Moneo, this site can be explored today.
