Delve into Carthago Nova's Roman past by reserving this ticket to the Roman Theatre Museum, which allows you to explore the history of this significant monument.

Cartagena Roman Theatre Museum Ticket

This ticket provides access to Carthago Nova's Roman past through archaeological pieces discovered in and around the Roman Theatre of Cartagena. The museum features various ancient buildings integrated into its structure, including the Riquelme Palace and the church of Santa Maria. The visit begins in the old Pascual Riquelme Palace, highlighting the history of the theater's discovery and excavation via an underground corridor. Visitors can view emblematic objects from the excavations, such as jewellery, statues, vessels, and significant artistic pieces like the three aras dedicated to the Capitoline Triad.

Afterward, you will pass through a tunnel beneath the medieval church leading to the Roman Theatre of Cartagena, one of Spain's largest. This site includes remains like the stage front, the orchestra area for patricians, and the cavea for the citizens, organized by social class.

The theatre could accommodate 7000 people and was actively used until the 2nd century. The site is now accessible due to archaeological excavations in the 90s and architect Rafael Moneo's design.
