Castillo de la Concepción and Panoramic Lift

Enjoy views of Cartagena and its port by taking the panoramic lift to the Castillo de la Concepción, which also allows for a visit to the fortress.

Description

The Castillo de la Concepción has stood since the 13th century, serving as a medieval fortress during the reign of Alfonso X and as a symbol of 18th-century Cartagena. The panoramic lift, standing 45 meters high, offers views of the city and its strategically important port, along with notable buildings like the Roman amphitheatre, the bullring, and the Hospital de Marina. At the summit, visitors can enter the fortress and the Interpretation Centre to learn about its historical heritage, including old cisterns and architectural elements.

Panoramic Lift Ticket

If you prefer not to enter the castle and Interpretation Centre, you can book a ticket solely for the panoramic lift to access the viewpoint and view Cartagena's monuments. The lift is located on Gisbert Street.

Los Viajes de Leonardo Exhibition

Until October 5, the castle hosts the temporary exhibition Los Viajes de Leonardo, featuring over one hundred inventions and painting replicas that illustrate Da Vinci's mind, from Vinci's landscapes to Florence and Milan. A single ticket price applies up to October 5 for all visitors.

Final admission is one hour before closing.

Reduced Ticket

Students under 25, youth card holders, unemployed individuals, retirees, disabled persons, and large families may book tickets at a reduced rate with appropriate identification.
