Discover a new side of Cartagena de Indias on this Gabriel García Márquez Tour and explore the places that inspired the winner of the 1982 Nobel Prize for Literature.

Gabriel García Márquez Tour

At your chosen time, we'll meet at the Camellón de los Mártires to start our route through Gabriel García Márquez's Cartagena de Indias.

We'll walk through the streets and corners of the city that inspired the novelist to write some of his most famous works, such as Love in the Time of Cholera, which portrays the Colombian way of life through magical realism.

We'll discover some key places in Gabo's Cartagena, starting with the Serrezuela, a former bullring converted into a shopping centre.

The next stop will be the Bóvedas, part of the Old City of Cartagena where the dungeons were located. During the tour, we'll unveil moments that marked the life of the Nobel Prize winner.

We'll continue the tour visiting the Monastery of La Merced, which features a monument dedicated to the writer in the cloister, along with the Heredia Theatre and Bolivar Park, where a famous bench dedicated to Gabriel García Márquez is located.

The tour will end back at the starting point after 3 hours.
