Escape from the city for a day and discover paradise on the Baru Peninsula on this day trip to Playa Tranquila from Cartagena. You'll relax at the beach club and enjoy the music and ocean sounds.

Tour Options

When booking, you can choose between 4 different options. All options last between 7 and 11 hours and include return transport to the Muelle de La Bodeguita de Cartagena and lunch with a choice of 3 protein options. Details of each option are provided below:

Playa Tranquila + Admission to Freedom Beach Club

This option includes pickup from the meeting point and transfer to Barú Island by bus or boat. Admission to Freedom Beach Club is included, along with a welcome cocktail. You can swim, sunbathe, and enjoy music. Lunch consists of a full meal including protein, coconut rice, salad, and patacones. Return to Cartagena occurs approximately 2 hours later.

Playa Tranquila + Oceanarium

This option includes a welcome cocktail, followed by a 20-minute boat ride to the Oceanarium. You'll spend around 2 hours exploring this conservation space. Afterward, you'll return to the club for lunch and have another 2 hours to enjoy the beach before heading back to Cartagena.

Playa Tranquila + Plankton

Enjoy the morning at the island with access to loungers at Freedom Beach Club. After lunch, a speedboat ride will take you to witness a light show created by plankton. Swimming is also available. Return to Cartagena concludes the day.

Playa Tranquila + Snorkelling + Plankton

This option features a welcome cocktail, followed by a mangrove tour to spot local wildlife. Afterward, enjoy snorkelling in a great area and a meal at the club. At sunset, witness the bioluminescence of the Caribbean Sea and swim with plankton before returning to Cartagena.

Playa Tranquila + Snorkelling + Mangroves

Start with a welcome cocktail at Freedom Beach Club, followed by a mangrove boat tour. You'll observe local wildlife and then enjoy snorkelling. Lunch is available before returning to the club for free time. Finally, you'll head back to Cartagena.

How to Get to Playa Tranquila

You may choose between two transport modes: bus or speedboat from Cartagena de Indias. If you select the bus, a short 5-minute boat transfer will take you to Playa Tranquila. Schedules and meeting points include:
