Enjoy a unique day, visiting one of the oldest cities in the Americas with this fantastic trip to Santa Marta from Cartagena.

Tour Details

We'll pick you up at your hotel in Cartagena de Indias at the appointed time and board a minibus to Santa Marta, a historic town in the department of Magdalena.

En route, we'll make a stop for breakfast in Cienaga for an egg arepa with a glass of orange juice or coffee. After this break, we'll continue our trip toward Santa Marta.

After a 4 hour and 30-minute drive, we'll arrive at Santa Marta. The first stop will be the Quinta San Pedro Alejandrino hacienda, the site of Simon Bolivar's death. Next, we'll visit the statue of Pibe Valderrama and learn about the Colombian soccer player.

We will tour the Pescaito neighborhood before heading to the bay of Santa Marta to see Parque de los Novios Park. A visit wouldn't be complete without seeing the cathedral, the oldest in South America, followed by Plaza Bolivar Square and a walk through colonial streets.

Our next stop is the Gold Museum in Casa de la Aduana, which was the Customs House during the colonial era. Here, you'll learn about the cultural heritage of Santa Marta and Cartagena. We'll then go to Rodadero to board a boat to Playa Blanca, where a traditional meal of fish, patacones, coconut rice, and salads awaits.

Finally, we’ll return to Cartagena de Indias, stopping in Barranquilla to see the Caiman del Rio and the Window to the World. The tour concludes at your hotel after 13 hours of sightseeing.
