Meknes and Volubilis PrivateTrip
We will collect you from your accommodation or the arranged meeting point in Casablanca, then head towards the Middle Atlas mountain range, reaching Meknes, approximately 200 kilometers away, after a journey of about two and a half hours.
In Meknes, which served as Morocco’s capital for over fifty years, we will explore its colorful market filled with traditional products, allowing for local haggling.
You will visit the gateway of Bab Mansour, the largest in Morocco and northern Africa, and noted for its beauty. We will also see the Mausoleum of Moulay Ismail, who ruled from 1672 until 1721 and established Meknes as the capital.
After this, you will have free time for lunch at a local restaurant to sample the local cuisine. After lunch, we will take our private vehicle to our second destination.
We will explore the ancient Roman city of Volubilis, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1997. Founded by the Carthaginians in the 3rd century BC, it was largely destroyed by an earthquake in 1755. You will tour the ruins and see the impressive preserved mosaics.
At the end of the tour, we will return to Casablanca and drop you off at the original meeting point.
