Cheese Factory Tour & Tasting

We'll meet at 11 am at the main entrance to the Doña Francisca cheese factory and embark on a tour to discover the production processes that take place here. The tour will include visits to the milk rooms, maturation, and shipping areas.

The Doña Francisca factory is renowned for creating artisanal cheeses, including the famous Torta del Casa, which holds a prestigious DOP (Protected Designation of Origin) certification. You'll learn about the origins of this delicacy, now regarded as a symbol of the province of Caceres. Additionally, the Torta "Virgen del Prado", recently awarded the title of third-best cheese in the world, is also produced here!

Following the tour, we will proceed to the tasting room for an exciting experience. Get ready to taste 10 different kinds of cheese! You will learn to identify their diverse tastes, aromas, and textures. Each tasting will be complemented by a glass of wine from the region, or you may choose mineral water instead.

The activity will conclude at 12:30 pm.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

This activity is straightforward. Arrive at the designated meeting point at the Doña Francisca cheese factory by 11 am. You will be guided through various areas of the factory, learning about the cheese-making process.

The services included in this tour are the factory tour, the tasting of 10 different types of cheese, and a glass of regional wine or mineral water.

Not included: transportation to the factory and any additional beverages or snacks outside the mentioned cheese tasting and wine.
