Calling all cheese lovers! Come on a guided tour of the Doña Francisca cheese factory, discover the production processes of artisanal cheeses and even try them for yourself!
Cheese Factory Tour & Tasting
We'll meet at 11 am at the main entrance to the Doña Francisca cheese factory and set off on our tour to learn about the production processes. We'll explore the milk rooms, maturation, and shipping areas.
The factory produces artisanal cheeses such as the Torta del Casa, which has the DOP stamp (Protected Designation of Origin). We will learn about its origin and significance in Caceres. The Torta "Virgen del Prado", recently recognized as the third-best cheese in the world, is also produced here.
After the tour, we will proceed to the tasting room to taste 10 different kinds of cheese and learn to identify their distinct tastes, aromas, and textures. The cheese tasting will include a glass of wine from the region or mineral water, based on your preference.
The activity will conclude at 12:30 pm.
