Tour of Cascais, Cabo da Roca & Boca do Inferno

Cascais has been a destination for artists and aristocrats since the end of the 19th century, featuring palaces, beaches, and scenic views. The tour begins at the train station in Cascais at 10 am, where participants will board a minibus and head to the Santuario da Peninha.

This monument includes an 18th-century chapel and a 20th-century palace, located on a hill that provides views of the coast and the Sintra-Cascais Natural Park.

Next, the tour proceeds to Cabo da Roca, a group of cliffs 459 feet (140 meters) above the ocean, recognized as the most western point in mainland Europe. Time will be allocated for photographs by the lighthouse, which is the third oldest in Portugal. Following this, the group will stop at Cresmina Dune for coffee and photo opportunities.

As participants return to Cascais, they will enjoy views of Praia do Guincho beach, popular with surfers. The penultimate stop is at Boca do Inferno, a cave in the cliffs where locals claim to hear sounds of the underworld.

The tour concludes with a visit to the historical center of Cascais, where an hour will be spent exploring its streets and buildings, before returning to the train station around 3 pm.
