Cerro Sechín Excursion
Pick up will be at 9 am at your hotel in Casma to travel to the archaeological complex of Cerro Sechín.
The site is 4,000 years old and comprises a large group of prehistoric buildings, including a central structure made of mud, a stone building, two additional structures on either side, and a lithic gallery featuring a mural with more than 300 iconographic representations carved in stone.
During the tour, we will examine details of these figures that depict various states of mind, such as ecstasy, euphoria, and pain, as well as an allegory illustrating the arrogance of victors and the fate of the vanquished. Information on the carving process will also be provided.
Subsequently, we will visit the Max Uhle Regional Museum, which contains a notable collection of archaeological artifacts from Cerro Sechín. The exhibition includes photographs, murals, drawings, and models to enhance understanding of the site's history.
After the museum visit, we will return to your hotel in Casma, arriving between 11 and 11:30 am.
