Cerro Sechín Excursion

We will pick you up at 9 am at your hotel in Casma to travel to the archaeological complex of Cerro Sechín, which is 4,000 years old. This site consists of a central mud building, another made of stone, two flanking structures, and a lithic gallery displaying over 300 iconographic representations carved in stone.

During the tour, we will observe figures representing various emotions such as ecstasy and pain, as well as symbols like the pride of victors and the fate of the defeated. We will provide insights into the carving process of these works.

Next, we will visit the Max Uhle Regional Museum, which contains a notable collection of artifacts from Cerro Sechín, including photographs, murals, drawings, and models that enhance our understanding of the site’s history.

After the museum visit, we will return to your hotel in Casma, arriving between 11 and 11:30 am.
