Excursion to Las Aldas & La Gramita Beach

The journey begins with a pick-up at 2 pm from your hotel in Casma before heading to Las Aldas, a significant archaeological site along the Peruvian coast.

Upon reaching our destination, we'll embark on a guided exploration of Las Aldas, uncovering the fascinating history behind this location. The origins of this site are traced back to between 1925 and 1410 B.C., marking its place in the timeline of the Late Archaic and Formative periods of ancient history. You'll witness remnants and evidence of an ancient civilization that has withstood the test of time.

Throughout the visit, our guide will elaborate on the complex's three primary roles as a ceremonial, administrative, and scientific hub. We'll delve into how marine resources were managed and the rituals that occurred at its ancient astronomical observatory, strategically situated for gazing at the night skies.

Following the exploration of Las Aldas, we'll proceed to the nearby La Gramita Beach, where you can appreciate the charm of this quaint fishing cove. For those interested, there will be an opportunity to savor delicious seafood and fresh fish dishes, all crafted from local ingredients.

Our excursion will conclude as we return from La Gramita to your hotel in Casma, with an expected arrival time between 5 and 5:30 pm.
