Grau de Castelló Guided Tour
We'll meet at 11:30 am at 28 Paseo de Buenavista. From this central point in Grau de Castelló, the tour will begin by admiring the modernist houses built in the area during the early 20th century.
After learning about the history of these houses, the tour will proceed to La Panderola Park to view an old locomotive from the railway line connecting El Grau with Castellón. Following this, we'll visit the Museum of the Sea to learn about the local seafaring tradition.
Next, we will head to the historic centre to see the San Pedro Church and the fish market. Nearby, we will also visit the Sailing Club, located next to the loading and unloading docks.
The route will continue along Plaza del Mar and the Puerto Azahar esplanada, the liveliest part of El Grau, known for its leisure and restaurant establishments. Next to the docks, we can observe boats setting sail for the Columbretes Islands, located 50 kilometres off the Castellón coast.
The tour concludes at 1 pm next to the Puerto Azahar lighthouse, a 19th-century symbol of Grau de Castelló that was relocated stone by stone to its current site.
