Grau de Castelló Guided Tour
We'll meet at 11:30 am at 28 Paseo de Buenavista. The tour will begin by admiring the modernist houses built in the area during the first decades of the 20th century.
After learning about the history of these houses, the tour will continue to La Panderola Park to see an old locomotive from the railway line that connected El Grau with the city of Castellón. Then we'll visit the Museum of the Sea to explore the deep-seated seafaring tradition of the area.
Our next stop will be the historic centre, where we will see the San Pedro Church and the fish market. A short distance away is the Sailing Club, situated next to the loading and unloading docks.
The route will continue along Plaza del Mar and the Puerto Azahar esplanada, a lively area with various leisure and restaurant options. From the docks, we can observe boats departing for the Columbretes Islands, located 50 kilometres off the coast of Castellón.
The tour will conclude at 1 pm next to the Puerto Azahar lighthouse, a 19th-century symbol of Grau de Castelló, relocated stone by stone to its current site.
