Are you ready to discover the captivating caves of the Castellón Province? Experience the breathtaking landscapes underground on this boat tour through the San José Caves.
Tour Overview
We'll gather at the designated time at the Tourist Office in Castellón, beginning our journey towards the southern region of the province, heading to the town of Vall de Uxó.
Upon arrival in this picturesque town, nestled at the base of the Sierra de Espadán Natural Park, a guided exploration of the San José Caves will commence. These remarkable caves maintain a steady temperature of 20ºC (68ºF) throughout the year, providing a comfortable environment as we traverse 255 meters (835 feet).
Next, we will embark on a boat ride along the largest subterranean river in Europe. This 800-meter (2625-foot) aquatic journey allows us to appreciate the unique rock formations on the cave walls, revealing the fascinating geology of this natural wonder. Throughout the excursion, we'll share intriguing insights about the caves.
Following our adventure underground, we will visit the Calzados Segarra museum-shop, recognized as Spain's oldest shoemaking establishment, which has been in operation since 1882!
In conclusion, we will return to the starting point in Castellón, wrapping up this immersive experience in a total of 5 hours.
