Mount Etna Day Trip

Embark on an exciting journey to Mount Etna from Taormina, where the mysteries of one of Europe’s most iconic volcanoes await your discovery. You will have the opportunity to explore two distinct craters alongside the unique local wildlife and plant life.

Trip Overview

At the scheduled time, pick-up will occur at the designated location in Taormina, followed by a minibus ride into the heart of the Etna National Park. Prepare to delve into one of the most intriguing regions in Sicily!

Throughout the excursion, we will share a comprehensive insight into the history, geology, and volcanic activity of Mount Etna. You'll also have the chance to observe various vegetation types, such as citrus groves, vineyards, chestnut forests, and pine woods.

After roughly an hour and a half of travel, we will ascend to an elevation of 1,900 m (6,233 ft). Once there, you will have 2.5 hours for personal exploration. Interested in venturing higher? During your leisure time, you can opt for an additional tour to ascend to the peak altitude of 2,750 m (9,022 ft).

Following this, we will reconvene before stopping at a nearby eatery for you to enjoy your lunch at leisure.

The complete excursion will wrap up at the initial meeting point after an enriching 8-hour experience.
