Castelo Branco Tour

At the scheduled time, we'll meet on Avenida Nuno Álvares to start this guided tour of Castelo Branco, the capital of the Beira Baixa region.

During the tour, we will explore the Middle Ages to learn about the history of Castelo Branco. We will observe the ruins of the city walls and the Castle of Castelo Branco, and discuss the Knights Templars.

We will stroll through the City Park and understand why the Portuguese Crown granted Castelo Branco the title of a notable town, while admiring the façades of significant monuments like the Clock Tower and the Cathedral, which features Romanesque, Gothic, and Baroque styles.

The tour will also address the city's evolution by observing houses from the 16th century and discussing traditional activities, including the well-known quilts of Castelo Branco.

After an hour and a half, we will conclude this walking tour by returning to the starting point.
