Castillo de Garcimuñoz Castle Ticket

Castillo de Garcimuñoz Castle is a fortress located in Castillo de Garcimuñoz, situated atop a hill to protect the town from invaders. It was originally owned by Garcimuñoz, a knight who participated in King Alfonso VIII's conquest of Cuenca in the 12th century, and later became property of Prince Don Juan Manuel. The castle was reconstructed in the 15th century by the Marquis of Villena and exemplifies the coexistence of Arabic, Jewish, and Christian cultures in Cuenca. The castle's structure is well-preserved, although the interior shows some deterioration. Visitors can explore the castle at their leisure and learn about its history and secrets through an English audio-guide. The location also offers impressive views of the stately homes, the Agustinos convent, and the San Juan Bautista church.
