On this day trip, we'll explore the coastal towns of Paita and Colán, including a visit to a basilica declared a National Historic Monument.
Description
We will pick you up at your hotel at the designated time before heading to the coastal town of Paita.
Upon arrival, we'll visit the port for a 20-minute cruise on a traditional boat, where we will look for sea lions and various birds such as the blackish oystercatcher, brown pelican, and blue-footed booby.
During the tour, you will sample Peruvian chifles, a fried plantain delicacy. Afterward, we'll go to Yacila Beach, a 0.5-kilometer stretch of Paita's fine sand beach, giving you the opportunity to swim.
Next, we will travel to Colán to visit the church of San Lucas, a 16th-century basilica built on the ruins of a pre-Hispanic temple of Capullanas, recognized as the first chapel in the South Pacific.
At the conclusion of the visit, you will have 1 hour of free time to eat and relax at the Colán Beach Resort, where you may see manta rays in the emerald waters surrounded by palm trees.
Finally, we will return to Piura, arriving at your hotel approximately 8 hours and 20 minutes after pickup.
