Tour Overview
Our journey begins in the heart of Catania, where we will board a specialized off-road vehicle and set off towards Mount Etna, leaving the urban landscape behind. Are you ready to discover one of the globe's most renowned volcanoes?
As we ascend the volcano's slopes, your knowledgeable guide will share insights into the significant historical and ecological value of this unique natural park, recognized as a World Heritage Site. Remarkably, this volcano has been referenced in literary works dating back over 2700 years!
This off-road adventure combines invigorating car rides with brief hikes, giving you the opportunity to fully appreciate the stunning surroundings. You'll observe the diversity of local flora and fauna and gain insights into the fertile lands of Etna and their importance to agriculture.
Your expedition will lead you through ancient woodlands, past lava-formed caves, and near inactive volcanic craters. The tour will also take you to Bove Valley. Here, we'll stop at a charming local shop where you can sample traditional Sicilian delicacies. Delicious!
After approximately 5.5 hours of exploration, we will return to our original meeting point in Catania.
Tour with Lunch (6 Hours)
For those wishing for a more indulgent experience, consider the option to enhance your tour with lunch, allowing you to enjoy the distinctive tastes of Sicily. In this case, we will pause at a local eatery to savor a menu featuring a starter, a main dish, and a cannoli for dessert. The meal will also include soft drinks, water, wine, coffee, and a liqueur.
Key Information
Please be aware that while this off-road tour does take you to stunning sights, it will primarily utilize paved routes. Access to the dirt tracks on the volcano is prohibited for all vehicles. Depending on weather and road conditions, the tour may be conducted in a minivan.
