A nature reserve, a necropolis, and a picturesque village await you on this day trip to Pantalica and Sortino.

Tour Description

We will pick you up from your hotel at the designated time to begin this day trip to Pantalica and Sortino.

After approximately 1 hour of travel, we will arrive at the first destination, the Pantalica Nature Reserve, established for the protection of Sicily's native flora and fauna. You'll explore notable karst structures like the Grotta dei Pipistrelli (Bat Cave).

Within the reserve, we will see the Necropolis of Pantalica, one of the largest necropolises in Europe, recognized as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, featuring around 5,000 tombs carved into the rock.

Next, we will travel to the village of Sortino, where you will have free time for lunch. Following that, we will stroll through narrow streets adorned with baroque architecture, visiting sites such as the Chiesa madre di San Giovanni apostolo de evangelista, Chiesa di Santa Sofia, and Chiesa della Natività.

The village also features museums like the Casa museo dell’apicoltura tradizionale and the Museo Civico dell'Opera dei Pupi, showcasing local traditions.

After a 1 hour and 30-minute visit to Sortino, we will return to your hotel, concluding the tour after a total of 8 hours.
