A nature reserve, a necropolis, and a picturesque village that still preserves baroque gems await you on this day trip to Pantalica and Sortino.

Tour Description

We'll pick you up from your hotel at the scheduled time to begin the day trip to Pantalica and Sortino.

After approximately 1 hour of travel, we'll arrive at the Pantalica Nature Reserve, created to protect Sicily's native flora and fauna. The reserve features karst cavities, including the Grotta dei Pipistrelli (Bat Cave), shaped by the action of water.

Within the reserve, explore the Necropolis of Pantalica, designated a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, which includes around 5,000 tombs cut into the rock.

Next, we will head to the village of Sortino, where you will have free time for lunch. After lunch, we will stroll through its narrow streets, viewing baroque buildings such as the Chiesa madre di San Giovanni apostolo de evangelista, Chiesa di Santa Sofia, and Chiesa della Natività.

Sortino also offers various museums, including the Casa museo dell’apicoltura tradizionale, showcasing honey production traditions, and the Museo Civico dell'Opera dei Pupi, featuring a Sicilian puppet theatre.

After a 1 hour and 30-minute visit to Sortino, we will return to your hotel, completing the trip in a total of 8 hours.
