Want to discover what is underground Catania? On this tour, we'll head under the city in search of hidden churches, tunnels, and mysterious passageways.

Tour Details

We'll meet at the designated time at Piazza Stesicoro to begin to discover underground Catania. The tour involves visiting 3 historical sites hidden under the earth.

Our first stop will be the Roman Amphitheatre, a significant monument dating back to the 2nd century AD, located within the Greco-Roman archaeological park of Catania.

Next, we'll visit the Sant'Eupilo Crypt, originally a Roman tomb from the imperial era found under the ruins of a church destroyed in World War II bombings. We will learn about the history of the saint after whom the crypt is named.

Finally, we'll head to the San Giuliano Crypt beneath the church of the same name and explore its historical significance.

To conclude the tour, snacks and a drink will be provided at a kiosk. The tour lasts a total of 2.5 hours and ends at Piazza Universià.
