Valley of the Temples & Scala dei Turchi Day Trip

Join us on this day trip to the Valley of the Temples and the Scala dei Turchi, featuring key archeological and natural sites in Sicily.

Day Trip Details

We will pick you up from your hotel in Catania to start the trip. The journey will be via minibus, during which you will learn about the Valley of the Temples in Agrigento. Upon arrival, you will visit at your own pace, observing significant structures including the Temple of Concordia, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. You will also view remains of other temples dedicated to gods such as Juno, Hercules, Hephaestus, and Athena.

Lunch will be at the bar at the Archeological Museum of Pietro Griffo, which features traditional sandwiches, water, and wine. Following lunch, we will proceed to the Scala dei Turchi, a prominent white rock formation above the turquoise waters of the Ionian Sea. Here, you will learn about marl, the rock responsible for the area's color, and hear stories about its name's origin. You will then have free time to explore.

The trip concludes with a return to Catania, dropping you off at your hotel after a duration of 9-9.5 hours.

Itinerary Order

The order of visits will be determined on the trip day, considering weather conditions and group preferences. However, a stop at the bar at the Archeological Museum of Pietro Griffo is guaranteed.
