Rafting in Chapada dos Veadeiros National Park

We'll meet up at 10 am at Rua Borba Gato in Cavalcante. After a safety briefing, we'll equip ourselves with helmets, vests, and other rafting gear.

Next, we'll prepare the rafts and set off down the river in Chapada dos Veadeiros National Park. The adventure includes a 14-kilometer (8.7-mile) route with a total of five rapids, including the exhilarating Funil do Paranã rapid.

Halfway through, we'll dock the rafts for a rest and refreshing dip in the river. Afterward, we’ll resume paddling until we reach the native Kalunga community for a visit to one of the members’ houses.

There, we’ll enjoy a typical Kalunga lunch featuring local products such as rice, beans, pasta, farofa, salad, fried plantain, cassava, chicken, and free-range eggs.

Post-lunch, we’ll visit the Tia Lió Kalunga Memorial and meet matriarch Lía Procópia, recognized for her efforts to defend the Quilombo Kalunga territory.

Finally, we’ll return to the meeting point in Cavalcante, arriving at 4 pm.
