Actun Tunichil Muknal Cave Trip

Pickup will be at 8 a.m. from your hotel in San Ignacio for a journey of about an hour and a half to Actun Tunichil Muknal Cave, a significant Mayan archaeological site in Belize. Inside the cave, you will learn how the Mayans viewed death and encounter human skeletons over a thousand years old, sacrifices made for the god Chaac.

During the three-hour tour, you will see up to 14 sets of human remains and learn about their burials, the Crystal Maiden, and the significance of pottery and clay artifacts. After the tour, lunch will be provided, consisting of rice, beans, chicken, and fried plantain. The excursion concludes as we return to San Ignacio, finishing at 5 p.m.

Who can take part in the activity?

The minimum height requirement is 1 meter (3.2 feet), and participants must be able to swim.
