Join us on this trip to Altun Ha, a significant Mayan archaeological site. You will tour the ruins of altars and temples that comprised an ancient city.

Atun Ha Trip

Pickup will be at 8 a.m. from your accommodation in San Ignacio, followed by a one-hour drive to the ancient Mayan city of Altun Ha, meaning "Rockstone Water" in the indigenous language.

At the site, we will explore the Mayan civilization's way of life through its two zones. In Plaza A, we will see the ruins of the Temple of the Tomb, where jewels, jade, and flint were discovered.

The tour continues to Plaza B, featuring the Temple of the Sun God, adorned with stone figures. We will also visit the Temple of the Masonry Altars, regarded as one of the most important ceremonial centers of the Mayan people.

On the return to San Ignacio, we will stop for lunch, which includes rice, beans, chicken, and fried plantain. The trip concludes at your hotel by 3:45 p.m.
