Join us on this fantastic trip to Altun Ha to discover an amazing Mayan archaeological site. You will walk among the ruins of altars and temples that once formed part of an ancient city.

Atun Ha Trip

We will pick you up at 8 a.m from your accommodation in San Ignacio before heading to the ancient Mayan city of Altun Ha, located about an hour's drive away. The name means "Rockstone Water" in the indigenous Mayan language.

Upon arrival, we will explore the way of life of the Mayan civilization through the two zones of the archaeological site. In Plaza A, we will see the ruins of the Temple of the Tomb, where jewels, jade, and flint were discovered.

The tour will also include a visit to Plaza B, home to the impressive Temple of the Sun God, featuring significant stone figures. Additionally, we will stop at the altars of the Temple of the Masonry Altars, a key ceremonial center for the Mayan people.

On the return journey to San Ignacio, we will make a final stop for a tasty lunch consisting of rice, beans, chicken, and fried plantain. The trip concludes at your hotel at approximately 3:45 p.m.
