Join us on this fantastic trip to Altun Ha to discover an amazing Mayan archaeological site. You will walk among the ruins of altars and temples that once formed part of an ancient city.

Atun Ha Trip

We will pick you up at 8 a.m from your accommodation in San Ignacio before setting off for the ancient Mayan city of Altun Ha, about an hour's drive away. The name means "Rockstone Water" in the indigenous Mayan language.

Once there, we will explore the two zones of the archaeological site. In Plaza A, we will find the ruins of the Temple of the Tomb where jewels, jade, and flint were discovered.

The tour will also visit Plaza B, home to the Temple of the Sun God with its impressive stone figures. We will also stop at the altars of the Temple of the Masonry Altars, a significant ceremonial center for the Mayan people.

On the way back to San Ignacio, we will stop to enjoy a lunch consisting of rice, beans, chicken, and fried plantain. The trip concludes at 3:45 p.m. when we return you to your hotel.
