Pickup is at 9 a.m. from your hotel in San Ignacio for a 45-minute drive into the Belize wilderness. The journey includes views of ancient villages and a visit to the Barton Creek Mennonite farm, where you will learn about traditional lifestyles.
Traveling through valleys, we reach Barton Creek River, where we will canoe to Barton Creek Cave, considered the Mayan underworld. Inside, explore limestone formations and caverns that rise up to 260 feet high.
Afterward, we return to the riverbank and disembark, followed by a lunch of rice, chicken, beans, and fried plantain.
The tour concludes with a return to San Ignacio, completing the activity by 2 p.m.
