Barton Creek Trip
Pickup will be at 9 a.m. at your hotel in San Ignacio, followed by a 45-minute drive into the Belize wilderness. You will see ancient villages and visit the Barton Creek Mennonite farm to learn about traditional life.
Crossing scenic valleys, you will reach Barton Creek River, where you will canoe to Barton Creek Cave, a site associated with the Mayan underworld. Inside this limestone grotto, paddle through areas featuring crystallized formations and caverns that rise up to 260 feet high.
After the cave exploration, you will return to the riverbank, disembark from the canoes, and enjoy lunch consisting of rice, chicken, beans, and fried plantain.
The activity concludes with a return to San Ignacio, where you will be dropped off at your accommodation by 2 p.m.
