Caracol Trip
Pickup is at 7 a.m. from your hotel, followed by a two-hour drive through the jungle to reach the archaeological site of Caracol. During this drive, we will pass small Mayan villages.
At Caracol, we will walk along paths connecting various areas and stop at the Temple of Caana, the tallest in Belize at almost 140 feet. The tour will provide insights into the lifestyle of the 180,000 inhabitants of this ancient Mayan city.
As we hike towards Pine Ridge Mountain, we may encounter native species such as the tapir. A picnic lunch consisting of sandwiches, juice, and fruit will be provided before continuing to the On Pools River, known for its natural wells. Additionally, we will visit the Cold River Cave, which reaches 65 feet in depth.
The excursion concludes with a return to San Ignacio, dropping you off at your accommodation around 5 p.m.
