Caracol Trip
Join us for a trip to the archaeological site of Caracol, the largest pre-Columbian city in Belize. We will pick you up at 7 a.m. at your hotel and depart from San Ignacio. The journey will take two hours through the jungle, where we will discover small Mayan villages.
Upon arrival at the archaeological site of Caracol, we will walk along paths connecting different areas. We will stop at the Temple of Caana, the tallest in the country at almost 140 feet. During the tour, we will explore the way of life of the 180,000 inhabitants of the Mayan city.
As we hike towards Pine Ridge Mountain, we may encounter native species like the tapir. A picnic lunch will be provided, consisting of sandwiches, juice, and fruit. We will also visit the Rio On Pools river, known for its natural wells, and the Cold River Cave, which is 65 feet deep.
After the tour, we will return to San Ignacio and drop you off at your accommodation, concluding the excursion around 5 p.m.
