Join us on a trip to the archaeological site of Caracol, the largest pre-Columbian city in Belize.

Caracol Trip

Pickup is at 7 a.m. from your hotel, followed by a two-hour drive through the jungle, passing small Mayan villages. We will reach the archaeological site of Caracol, the largest ancient Mayan city in Belize.

You will walk along paths connecting different areas of Caracol, stopping at the Temple of Caana, the tallest structure in the country at almost 140 feet. The tour will explore the pre-Columbian remains and the way of life of the 180,000 inhabitants of the Mayan city.

As we hike towards Pine Ridge Mountain, you may encounter local species such as the tapir. A picnic lunch with sandwiches, juice, and fruit will be provided before continuing to the On Pools River, composed of natural wells. We will also visit the Cold River Cave, which is 65 feet deep.

After the tour, we will return to San Ignacio and drop you off at your accommodation, concluding the excursion around 5 p.m.
