Travel back in time to the Mayan era on this day trip to the archaeological site of Lamanai. Experience a scenic sail along the Nuevo River and explore the remains of a pre-Columbian city.

Description

We will pick you up from your hotel in San Ignacio at 6 am and head to the dock, known as Bats Landing, proceeding to the northern lowlands of the country.

Upon arrival at the New River dock, we will begin our journey across the lagoon, discovering over 3000 years of Mayan history. During this trip, it is possible to see wildlife such as the boat-billed heron, crocodiles, river turtles, and hear Yucatan black howler monkeys as we travel through the forest that once housed this civilization.

At the archaeological site, a knowledgeable tour guide will engage with us based on our interests. We will spend approximately 1.5 hours exploring the site before enjoying a meal. After lunch, we will return to the New River dock.

After an adventurous day, we will take you back to your hotel.
