Travel back to Mayan times with this day trip to the archaeological site of Lamanai. You'll sail along the Nuevo River and explore the pyramids and temples of this pre-Columbian city.
Description
Pickup will be at your hotel in San Ignacio at 6 am, proceeding to the dock known as Bats Landing, located in the northern lowlands of the country.
Upon arrival at the New River dock, embark on a voyage across the lagoon, exploring over 3000 years of Mayan history. During the excursion, you may encounter the boat-billed heron, crocodiles, river turtles, and Yucatan black howler monkeys.
At the archaeological site, a knowledgeable tour guide will assist you based on your interests. The visit will last approximately 1.5 hours, followed by a lunch. After lunch, the return to the New River dock will commence.
At the end of the day, you will be dropped back at your hotel.
