Tikal Trip

Pickup will be at 7 a.m from your hotel in San Ignacio. The journey involves a drive across the border into Guatemala, followed by a thirty-minute drive through the jungle to Tikal, the citadel. You will explore over 3000 structures and gain insights into the life of pre-Columbian nobility. Tikal has been featured in films like Star Wars and James Bond.

Upon arrival at Central Park, you will see the Pyramid of Guatemala, where religious sacrifices occurred, and ascend the Temple of the Masks, a popular site. Visit Temple IV, which stands 209 feet high. After three and a half hours of exploration, lunch will be provided at a local restaurant in Tikal, consisting of soup, a meat or vegetarian main course, and vegetables and rice.

The return to San Ignacio will conclude the excursion at 4:30 p.m.

Border crossing

When booking, you can select the option with pickup at the Guatemala border. The itinerary remains the same, starting at 7:30 a.m. and concluding at 4 p.m. at the border.

Necessary documents

A passport is required for crossing the border between Belize and Guatemala during the journey from San Ignacio.
