This guided exploration of Cazorla invites you to delve into its historical tapestry. During the journey, we will discover the Bóveda del río Cerezuelo and the remnants of the Church of Santa María de Gracia, complemented by an olive oil tasting.
Tour Overview
We will gather at Calle Gómez Calderón at the scheduled time to embark on an engaging olive oil tasting lasting about 1 hour and 45 minutes. Throughout this session, participants will gain insights into the various categories of virgin olive oil, sampling the distinguished royal and picaul varieties, while engaging in sensorial games that enhance your senses of taste and smell.
Following the tasting experience, we will proceed to the stunning viewpoint of Pintor Zabaleta to initiate our guided exploration of Cazorla. Our first step will be to explore the historical roots of Cazorla and discuss the significance of the surrounding natural park.
As we continue, we will meander along the Cerezuelo Riverwalk, where you can observe a variety of bird species, an ancient flour mill, and appreciate the local vegetation, including oak trees, yew trees, and fig trees.
This path leads us to the bóveda del río Cerezuelo, a vital landmark within Cazorla. This structure, constructed in the 16th century, was pivotal in directing the river's flow, promoting the town's development. We will also share the intriguing legend tied to this site and explore the ruins of the Renaissance-style Church of Santa María de Gracia.
After approximately 3 hours of exploration, we will conclude our tour at the Plaza de Santa María, situated in the historic heart of Cazorla.
