Historic Tour of Cefalù

The historical tour of Cefalù commences at the Giudecca Gate, near the Jewish quarter. You will learn about the historical eras of Cefalù and the legacy of the Jewish community that resided here. The tour includes the port, where Cefalù has served as a backdrop for films like Indiana Jones 5 and New Cinema Paradiso. We’ll walk past Porta Pescara into the historic center, explore a medieval washhouse, and visit the Palazzo Mandralisca with its museum of Byzantine icons. The tour also includes the Cathedral of the Transfiguration, where you'll witness the Byzantine-style golden mosaic in the apse.

Archeological Tour of Cefalù

Meeting at 13 Via Umberto I, we’ll walk to the Archaeological Park of La Rocca. The tour begins as we ascend a fortified medieval pathway to the fortress of La Rocca, where we’ll view Byzantine archaeological remnants, including the temple of Diana. Other findings include a 9th-century BC cistern, ancient walls, and ovens.

The tour concludes back at the starting point.
